Obituary of Marilyn Lane Josey

Marilyn Lane Josey Reynoldsville - On December 31, 2021, Marilyn Lane Josey passed away in Reynoldsville, NY. She was 72 years old. Marilyn married her high school sweetheart, Curtis V. Josey (Sr), on April 30, 1967. They raised two daughters, Marcia and Kristine, and a son, Curtis Jr (JJ), and were proud grandparents to three grandchildren. She often credited her alma mater, Tioga Central School, for their excellent education in financial and business management, which prepared her for a professional career in retail services until her early retirement. After retirement, she volunteered at the Steele Memorial Library in Elmira, researched genealogy, curated historical photos, restored vintage frames, and enjoyed her animal companions. Her other hobbies included: needlework, ceramics, gardening, and scrapbooking. She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis V. Josey (Sr) on April 9, 2020, her uncle John A. Herrala on October 22, 2020, her father Willard C. Van Gelder on November 12, 2020, and her grandson Kyle X. Greenfield on August 24, 2021. She is survived by her mother, Alice L. Van Gelder, her brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Joy Van Gelder, her three children, and two granddaughters, Allyson H. and Dominique (Nique) M. Josey. A funeral service for family and close friends is planned for the Tioga Cemetery, where her and her husband's ashes will be laid to rest near her paternal grandparents, Elmer (Poppy) and Bertha Van Gelder.
