What a bright light was your mother, Helen. When your late father, Clare - another bright light in an entirely different way! - came to work in higher education in Boston, it was clear from the start the two of them were a team, supporting each other every step of the way. Their warmth, intelligence, & compassion radiated out to benefit everyone with whom they came in contact. While writing this can see them together, laughing, singing, sharing - thoroughly enjoying every minute of their lives & inspiring others to do the same. They made a lasting impression which will inspire me the rest of my days.

I'm a bit late on sending condolences, but I just had a flashback to a conversation with Helen and learned of her passing. I directed the Kendal at Ithaca Chorus in 2017-2018 and Helen was such a supportive and enthusiastic student in my journey to becoming a music teacher. She was "my biggest fan", writing my letter of recommendation to the job I still hold today. I remember how she would light up when talking about her choral music experiences in Boston and how she always knew when the altos were slightly off-pitch :). My condolences for your loss, she was an incredible woman and I know she lives on through the many people she influenced in her life. Best wishes, Sean Gillen
