Obituary of Francesco Melice

Francesco “Gino” Melice died peacefully at his home surrounded by family on late Saturday May 1st. Francesco was born on January 11th, 1951 in Canicatti, Sicily Italy. He was survived by his wife of 40 years Grazia Maria Melice and their four children: Michael Melice, Carmelo Melice, Giuseppa Melice, and Gioacchino Melice. As well as his younger brother Salvatore Melice. Francesco had a passion for his family, especially his grandchildren Matthew, Adrien, Giovanino, Aubriella, Cesare, Jackson, Grace, Emilia, Gianna and Alina. He fought his battle long enough to make sure he didn’t miss the birth of his most recent grandchild. Francesco worked for Cornell Wilsons Lab – CHESS, as an engineer for almost 20 years and loved his job. He also worked with his brother at Sal’s Pizzeria for 10 years. Francesco had a passion for food, especially making his own home-made pastas and pizzas. He also loved having cook offs with his wife on “who can make the better sauce” according to him, he always won. Francesco was also second-degree black belt and loved to practice and teach when he could. Francesco had a great passion for life and the Lord, he was the patriarch of the family and will be greatly missed. The family will be having a private memorial to celebrate his life. Another memorial will be held by Francesco’s childhood friends in Canicatti Sicily, in the church where he spent most of his childhood playing soccer, the place he loved the most.
