Obituary of Perry L. Swartwood

Perry (Pete) L. Swartwood of Trumansburg NY passed away on January 5, 2017 with his wife and son by his side. Pete was born April 7, 1942 in Sayre PA to Lawrence and Shirley (Brown) Swartwood. During his childhood. Pete spent many summers with his grandparents, Percy and Norma Swartwood of Trumansburg. Pete served in the US Navy where he spent 28 years. Pete was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and taking care of his horses and spending time with his family. Pete was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon (Smitka) Swartwood in 1995 and son Jeffrey in 1984. Pete is survived by his wife, Nancy (Minns), daughters Donna (Eric) Federspeil of California Sheril McLeod of Maryland; Kimberly (Larry) Waters of Alabama and son Donald of New York. Grandchildren: Derek (Natalie), Megan, Melissa, Tyler and Wesley of California; Michael of Maryland; and Megan and Hailey of Alabama. Two sisters: Cheryl Peet of Texas and Grace (Paul) Harbst of Pennsylvania. Brothers in law: Tom (Lisa) Minns, Jerry Lambert and Edward Minns. Several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the American Legion Post 676 corner of NYS Rt. 228 and Steam Mill Road, Odessa, NY on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11:00 am.
