Obituary of Karen Lee Fairley

Karen L. Stage (Fairley), age 69 of Ithaca, NY passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at her home Friday, August 19, 2022. Karen was born July 17, 1953. She raised in Ithaca, NY. While in Ithaca she worked for Lou Casiati Accounting for several years after graduating from Ithaca High School in 1971. Karen then moved to Pittsburgh, PA in the 1980's where she married the late David J. Fairley and had her children before moving back to Ithaca in 2002. When she moved back to the area she was employed by Cornell Dining and later worked for Cornell Building Care. She spent her last few years living in Titus Towers where she enjoyed playing Bingo and being around her friends. Karen was a loving, funny, caring woman who always had a smile on her face, she loved and left an impression on everyone she met. She was so full of life and enjoyed making people laugh and smile. Karen is survived by her children David(Crystal) Fairley of Colorado and Heather Fairley of Ithaca, grandchildren Dakota Fairley, Reagan Johnson, and Marlee Fairley of Ithaca and Raelynn and Richard Sarmiento of Colorado. She is also survived by her siblings Nancy (Jack) McKittrick of Trumansburg, Peter (Pat) Stage of Ithaca, Russell Poyer of Lansing, Kenny (Barb) Clute of Harrisburg, PA as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and many friends she considered family. Karen is predeceased in life by her brothers Alfred "Bud" Stage Jr of Ithaca and Raymond Poyer of NJ. Per her wishes there are no scheduled services at this time.
