James Esky Shaff of Podunk Road, Trumansburg, left this world to be with his wife on January 22, 2017.
Born on June 8, 1928, he was the son of John Shaff and Jessie Handlen. He was retired from the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office.
He is predeceased by his loving wife, Elizabeth, brother Robert, and sister Juanita. He is survived by his sisters, Janet Palmer and Sally Ann Mongold, daughters Debbie (Ken) Spencer, Diane (Bill Spoon) Ferris, sons Jim (Kathee) Shaff, Dan (Sheila) Shaff and Bill (Elizabeth Desch) Shaff, his grandchildren, Kimmie Bergen, Amber Ferris, Ryan Shaff, Shanna Shaff, Nicolas (Beth) Shaff, Noel Shaff, Nathan (Chelse) Shaff, Greg Spencer, Christine (Dusty) Hickman, Beverly (Aaron) Woods, and Rebecca Howell. His great-grandchildren, Trevor Bergen and Mason Shaff. His special friends, Larry Ward and Diane Achilles.
He was a man who never let physical setbacks hold him down. He was a truck driver, motorcycle and ATV rider along with many other activities. He will be sorely missed.
As there will be no services per his wishes, donations in his name may be made to the charity of ones choice.
