Obituary of Christopher Paul Lipinoga
With comfort and peace, at 34 years young, Chris Lipinoga, “Lippy,” passed away on November 23, 2017 surrounded by his closest loved ones.
Chris was born in Ithaca on January 16, 1983. He is survived by his parents Susan Swertfager Lipinoga, Paul Lipinoga, sisters Julia Thompson (with husband Morgan), and Sarah Gallo (with wife Emily), stepmother Lynette Pittinger, his devoted partner Amanda Mulholland, and her son Luke Everson. He was a proud uncle to Sebastian Aceto, Mateo Gallo, Alden Thompson, Oliver Thompson, and Lucia Gallo. Additionally he is survived by his grandmother Jean Lipinoga and aunts, uncles, and cousins in the areas of Buffalo, Norwich, and Dansville NY.
Chris was blessed with the ability to make friends wherever he went. His laughter filled any room and his free spirited nature was unending. His friendships meant the world to him and he would do anything in his power to help a friend in need. Chris’s love for music ran deep and you would never miss him dancing at a concert or festival. Like a true Ithacan he loved to snowboard, play ice hockey, softball, and kickball and he cherished his friendships with teammates. He constantly reminded each of us that life was about living to the fullest.
His work in painting, construction and landscaping allowed him to use his hands and often be outdoors. While mostly living in Ithaca, his work took him to Buffalo, Asheville, San Francisco and Maui and he found pride in the detail and care he got to bring to his work.
We extend a special thank you for the trusted care Dr. Julie Campbell and her team offered Chris over these last two years and to Hospicare for holding such a beautiful space for Chris’s last days.
Donations can be made to Hospicare & Palliative Care Services Ithaca (https://www.hospicare.org/donate/), Kevin Guest House at Roswell Park (https://kevinguesthouse.com/give/), or to a cause you believe reflected Chris’s vitality.
We will be having a Celebration of Life for Chris Lippy on Sunday December 10, 1pm at The Space at Greenstar followed by a night of dancing at The Dock from 6pm-11pm.
