Obituary of Laura Tietjen Wysong

Our dearest Laura Tietjen Wysong of Trumansburg, NY, passed from this earth on 13 August 2018. Born in Cleveland in 1951, Laura moved to Summit, NJ. in 1953. She graduated from Univ. of Chicago, where she majored in Religions of the World. Laura's lifework was devoted to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and his teachings. She became a teacher of Transcendental Meditation in 1976.

Laura was deeply devoted to her husband Joel; Joel's children Mimi Eastlick and Jesse Wysong, and their respective spouses Robin Eastlick and Danielle Lynch-Jacobson. Laura is also survived by her grandson Rowan, and preceded in death by her grandson Finn.

Our Laura is survived by four Tietjen siblings: Frances, Richard, Eleanor, and Gregory; cherished goddaughter Monica Byrne; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. 

Laura was loved by all. She had a unique and consistent quality of giving her attention to each person in a way that made them feel loved and worthy. A memorial celebration was held on 18 August 2018 at the Wysong home. A yagya is planned to ease Laura's passing.
