Obituary of William Edward Shultz, Jr.

William Edward Shultz Jr. "Bill", son of the late Stella (Jedra) Shultz and the late William Edward Shultz passed away on May 26, 2018 at the Syracuse VA Hospital. He was 83 years old. Bill was born in Newfield and attended Newfield school. He went on to join the Air Force in 1953 and served proudly both at home and abroad until his honorable discharge in 1962. Upon leaving the Air Force Bill entered the construction trade and soon became skilled in every facet of home construction, building and remodeling several homes and establishments in the Central New York area. Bill loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, camping, and cutting firewood. He also took great joy in woodworking and could often be found in his shop crafting beautiful pieces of furniture during the winter months. Bill was the beloved husband of the late Arline (Spooner) Shultz. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Theadore "Ted" Shultz and Frank "Mickey" Shultz; and sister, Jane (Eberhardt) Shultz. Bill is survived by his son William J. Shultz; brother Richard "Dick" Shultz and wife Phyllis; sisters Helen Shultz, Ruth (Cudlin) Shultz and Husband Joe along with sister-in-laws Carol (Mickey) Shultz and Evelyn (Ted) Shultz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A kind and loving father, brother and friend, Bill will be dearly missed by all who were close to him.
